| High Performance TS Zoom Spotting Scope 22 - 66 x 100mm with 45° Angled View - Available with Achromatic or Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) Objectives
Mechanical and Optical Excellence:
This Spotting Scope is made to very high standards - both the mechanics and the optics leave nothing to be desired. Key features of this Spotting Scope are its beautiful finish, its sharp multi-coated optics and a very good Zoom eyepiece. The Spotting Scope is spraywater-proof and can therefore be used under less-than-perfect meteorological conditions. Its excellent sharp and contrasty optics will show you tiny details, e.g. in the feathers of a bird, where other, simpler spotting scopes will show nothing but a boring blur. With its large aperture (objective diameter) you will still have conveniently bright images in a dark forest, in the twilight or even at night!
Using the TS Zoom Spotting Scope:
With an objective diameter (aperture) of 100mm you will have conveniently bright images even at high magnifications. You will notice the great performance under bad lighting conditions - even at night you will be able to see details in distant objects. At all magnifications the image will remain sharp and crisp and the images are true-colour, a fact that birdwatchers, hunters and any connoisseurs of the great outdoors will appreciate!
Our spotting scope is at the same time well suited for astronomical use. Many faint nebulae and galaxies reveal first details. Have a look at our crescent moon and you will know what is so fascinating about amateur astronomy. Our TS Spotting Scope was made for the serious birdwatcher or hunter, but anyone will enjoy those great images it shows.
Features of this TS Spotting Scope:
-- Comfortable 45° Angled View
-- Multi-coated objective for superior light transmission and brighter, clearer images. The multi-coating also enhances contrast.
-- A Zoom eyepiece is included, offering magnifications from 22x to 66x. The eyepiece offers a very good viewing comfort.
-- The TS Spotting Scope has a very precise and smooth focus mechanism.
-- The TS Spotting Scope has a metal body. It is very robust and will not be damaged during slightly bumpy transport.
Fixed Eyepieces for TS Spotting Scopes - for even sharper images
With fixed focal length eyepieces you will get even sharper and more contrasty images as with the Zoom eyepiece. This makes them an interesting choice for observers who want to get the most out of their spotting scopes. The eyepieces were made specifically for these spotting scopes - best possible image definition and an excellent viewing comfort is the result. All eyepieces come safely stored in practical plastic bottles.
Use: Just unscrew the Zoom eyepiece and attach your fixed eyepiece in the same position.
Possible Magnifications:: 25mm ( 21x ) , 19mm ( 28x ) , 15mm ( 36x ) , 9mm ( 60x ) , 6mm ( 90x ) und 5mm

Our Spotting Scope as a Telephoto-Lens:
Our spotting scopes are very versatile and can also be used as a telephoto lens for your camera. For this purpose we offer a camera adaptor with the standardised T2 (M42x0.75) thread. The adaptor works with any fixed eyepiece for our spotting scopes, but not with the Zoom eyepiece.
Depending on the exact camera you will need a further adaptor (T-ring, 20 Euro. Please specify your SLR camera type.) You can also attach your digital camera to the spotting scope, please contact us with details on your camera, we will help you with the choice of the proper adaptors.
For eyepiece projection with a conventional SLR camera we recommend the 25mm or 19mm fixed eyepiece. With this eyepiece the image will remain very bright, keeping exposure times at a minimum. |

Image to the right: The excellent viewing comfort is provided by the large eye lens of the zoom eyepiece.
Specs:
=> Zoom eyepiece with 22-66x magnification (with rubber eyeguard to keep out stray light).
=> eye-relief of the Zoom eyepiece: 18-15mm
=> Exit pupil of the Zoom eyepiece: 4.6 - 1.6mm
=> Field of View with the Zoom eyepiece (metres): 32-15m at 1000m (depending on the magnification)
=> Sign of Quality: This spotting scope has a dark green multi-coating, not just a simple coating. As a result contrast and image brightness are excellent!
=> Aperture (Objective Diameter): 100mm
=> Focal length: 540mm
=> Length w/o eyepiece: 48cm - Length w/ zoom eyepiece: 52cm |

Two Variants Available - Achromatic Objective or Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) Apochromatic Objective
Every lens will cause what is known as "false colour" - a purple or yellow coloured fringe around every bright object. This false colour is reduced by the use of two different glass substrates in each objective. Classical glasses allow for an enormous reduction in false colour - such a telescope or spotting scope is called an Achromat. The little remaining false colour does not disturb under normal observing conditions.
For demanding customers we also offer the ED Spotting Scopes. These utilise a special glass substrate (Extra-Low Dispersion glass). False colour is almost completely eliminated. Experienced birdwatchers will welcome this for its enhanced contrast!
For astronomical use the achromatic objective is perfectly suited for rich-field use. You will not notice any image breakdown in comparison with the ED objective on gas nebulae, galaxies and clusters of stars. If you plan to use very high magnifications with our fixed focal length eyepieces you will notice the colour fringe around bright objects like the moon and the planets. For these purposes we recommend the ED variant which will show more details on such objects.
