We always recommend to have additional counterweight on the counterweight shaft rather than using less counterweights further from the center. That way you will keep down vibrations and will of course also have reserves for heavy accessories.

Dovetail Plates

Dovetail plates are the connecting parts between a telescope and a mount. The mount needs to have a quick release clamp to accomodate the plate. There are two different common dovetail plate formats: The Vixen format is probably the most common dovetail plate format. These plates fit - among others - these mounts: - Vixen GP Series, Porta, ... - Synta EQ-5, H-EQ5, EQ-6, ... - TS Astro-5 - Celestron ADM, CAM The larger Losmandy format (3") is common in many larger mounts, e.g.: - all current Losmandy mounts - Celestron CGE - OTE - all mounts with Intes Micro or William Optics Losmandy format saddle plate Losmandy Dovetail Rails William Optics Dovetail Plates - .... The TS Duomount allows for the parallel use of two telescopes on your mount. You can quickly set-up or break down the entire assembly through the use of quick exchange couplings for both telescopes and the Duomount itself. You can use our standard dovetail plates. In order to balance different telescopes you can move the TS Duomount laterally. You can balance telescopes of drastically different weight. With a perfect balance you will notice drastically reduced vibrations. |

The Duomount XL is an improved version of our popular "TS Duomount". Like the classical TS Duomount it allows you to mount two telescopes side by side. In addition it offers a micrometer adjustment for one of the telescopes. This is ideal for guide scope purposes! You no longer need separate guide scope rings to adjust the position of the guiding telescope. And the best thing: The Micrometer adjustment is stong enough to carry guide scopes up to about 5kgs! On both sides telescopes are connected using Vixen-style dovetail plates (not included). The Micrometer Guide Scope Holder is also available separately! |

Inexpensive Chinese Single- and Dual Axis Motor Drives

These are quartz-controlled motor drives with reasonable tracking precision. Both the single- and dual axis drives come complete with motor(s), gears, controller and battery pack (batteries not included). A manual clutch allows you to continue using the manual slow motion controls of your mount.
