William Optics 0.8x field flattener & reducer	0.8x Field Flattener For Refractors Field flatteners are needed for best photographical performance of a refractor telescope. With only very few exceptions (e.g. Pentax) all refractors have a curved focus plane. This means that you would get a sharp image at the center, but with a degradation of the image towards the edge. The William Optics 0.8x reducer & field flattener significantly improves the sharpness towards the edge for the entire APS sensor format, but can be used also to some extent with a 35mm film format. The flattener is directly compatible with all William Optics 66mm through 90mm telescopes.
