NexStar 80 SLT
Good quality refractor - 80mm aperture - 900mm focal length - with NexStar SLT GoTo mount

The image shows the older Nexstar 80 GTL. The Nexstar SLT is similar in performance, but looks a bit different.
| GoTo Refractor ... Aperture 80mm ... Focal Length 900mm The NexStar 80 is possibly Celestron's most popular entry level telescope for customers who value computer control with its many practical advantages. Image quality is very good, resulting in high definition images of the moon and the planets. With its multi-coated lenses the image is also as bright as possible for nice views of gas nebulae and galaxies. Its relatively long focal length results in much better colour correction than would be possible in short focal ratio achromats. You can use magnifications up to approx. 150x without image breakdown. The mechanical parts are of a good quality, too. The metal focuser is strong enough to carry heavy accessories. It has a T2 thread for camera adaptations. A locking screw will fix the focuser in position. |

| Sky Align - Your Easy Way To The Stars GoTo capable telescopes take a lot of the responsibility off your shoulders. They will automatically slew to thousands of objects, leaving you the time to do what you're out to do for: Observing! Each GoTo telescope must be aligned before it can be used properly. This procedure used to be complicated and required knowledge of at least a couple of dozen brighter stars. With Celestron's revolutionary new Sky Align this procedure has become ultra-simple: Step 1 ... Just enter date, time and observing location. The optional GPS module will even do that for you. Step 2 ... Point the telescope at three bright stars - you don't need to know which stars they are! Even planets and the moon will work. Once you have finished this simple procedure you are ready to start observing. The telescope will slew to any object you might fancy within a moment's notice, driven by powerful servo motors. |

| GoTo Refractor ... Aperture 102mm ... Focal Length 660mm The NexStar 102 is a powerful rich-field telescope for stargazers enjoying wide-angle views of the milky-way and gas nebulae. It offers 63% more light than an 80mm refractor and at the same time almost 50% larger fields of view. With its short tube length the 102 SLT is well suited for travelling, even by airplane. Setup takes only a few minutes. The 2" focuser allows you to use professional grade 2" eyepieces and diagonals for optimum performance. With 2" eyepieces the possible field of view grows even more. Example: With a 900mm focal length refractor a 32mm Super Plossl eyepiece will render a field of view of 1.85°. With a 2" wide angle eyepiece the NexStar 102 SLT offers fields of view up to 4.2° - more than twice the field diameter. |

| GoTo Reflector ... Aperture 114mm ... Focal Length 1000mm This compact multi-purpose telescope is made for improved performance for deep sky objects. With 114mm aperture it collects considerably more light than smaller telescopes, resulting in brighter images. the tube is only about 47cm long, thanks to the correcting lens which doubles the focal length to 1000mm. The entire telescope weighs under 8kgs, so it is a very portable telescope for travelling. Visual Use |

GoTo Newtonian .... Aperture 130mm .... Focal Length 650mm This classical Newtonian with parabolical mirror has an enormous light gathering power for superb deep sky performance. With its short focal length of 650mm it is suited for wide angle views. This is particularly important for galaxies and extended nebulae as well as star clusters. The parabolical primary mirror at the same time offers a very good image sharpness. This makes the telescope also suitable for observing planets and the moon. Visible detail on the planets is easily comparable with 80-100mm refractors while at the same time the telescope collects much more light for dim objects. Astro Imaging With the NexStar 130 GT some limited astro-imaging is possible. Its alt-azimuth mount will result in image rotation after about 20-60 seconds. But lunar and planetary imaging is possible without reservations, offering impressive results e.g. with a modern webcam. |

GoTo Maksutov ... Aperture 102mm ... Focal Length 1325mm
Probably the best buy in the compact Celestron NexStar telescope line. A sharp, high definition Maksutov-Cassegrain optical system combined with a sturdy and compact GoTo mount and sophisticated electronics.

With this telescope's good optical quality magnifications up to 200x are possible (no "empty" magnification). Equatorial and Alt-Azimuth Mode |

Visual Use The excellent high definition Maksutov optical layout offers superb correction and image quality for objects within our solar system. Be it ridges and craters on the moon, or fine detail in Jupiter's atmosphere, or Saturn's Cassini division, all of this is easily visible in good contrast. Beyond our solar system many star clusters, nebulae and galaxies are within reach of this telescope. Its inherent high contrast makes more objects visible than would be expected for a telescope of this size. The telescope can also be used for terrestrial observing. Just switch to the terrestrial mode. Then you can still automatically move the telescope at high speed, making for a very comfortable high-tech spotting scope. When looking through the upper eyepiece attachment the image is upright, but not mirror reversed. There is also an optional erecting prism that can be screwed into the rear of the telescope. Then you have a 45 degree angled viewing position and an upright, terrestrially correct image. Imaging Most common cameras can be attached easily. We offer the needed adaptors for most mounts. The NexStar 4 then serves as a powerful telelens with good image definition even towards the edge. |

| Celestron's SE telescope line is the successor for their larger GT and SLP lines. The NexStar 4 SE offers several great advantages and features: Setup The NexStar 4 SE comes with a sturdy adjustable height tripod. The telescope can be used in equatorial mode (with the integrated polar wedge) or in alt-azimuth mode. EQ mode is for astro-imaging, alt-az mode for visual use. You can also put the telescope with its mount directly on a table, without using the tripod at all. Then you have an even more compact setup for travelling. The tube is attached to the mount with a quick release saddle plate - it can be removed quickly This is a particularly practical feature for transport. The mount itself and the telescope form two separate, easily portable parts. Another huge advantage is the possibility to use the telescope on other mounts, or to use other telescopes on this mount. Highly Refined Software The software has in the past years been improved for very good user friendliness. The new "Sky Align" procedure allows you to align the telescope on three bright stars without needing to know them at all! The procedure is easy, quick, and reliable. After alignment you can use all the comfort of a sophisticated GoTo control for your telescope. You can even controll the functions of your digital SLR camera with the hand controller of the telescope! Ultra-Compact - Suitable for Airline Travelling You can remove the tube with its delicate optics from the mount for transport. Then you can take the tube - along with the delicate optics in it - as carry-on luggage for airline travelling, while the mount and tripod can go as normal luggage. Suitable For Astro-Imaging The digital revolution with its highly sophisticated digital cameras has spawned a new popularity of astro-imaging of all kinds. The NexStar 4 SE is a good basis for astro-imaging. -- You can directly attach your SLR camera to the quick release saddle plate of the mount. -- The integrated polar wedge allows you to use the mount in equatorial mode. This allows for longer exposure times without image rotation. Remote Control of Digital SLR Cameras -- You can control your digital SLR camera (e.g. Canon EOS) remote from the hand controller of the NexStar 4 SE. You can choose exposure times and access many camera functions. Optical Quality |

Removable Tube A huge advantage of this telescope !!!! This instrument is particularly compact for transport. You can attach other telescopes to the mount, or you can directly attach your camera using the optional PS Foto dovetail plate. This makes the mount particularly attractive for astro-imaging. Our smaller TS Duomount can be used to attach both the main instrument and a camera at the same time. You can of course also take off the Maksutov tube and use it as a spotting scope on a camera tripod. |
